Nick Ward – Cadenza

Nick Ward - Cadenza

Out today is the stunning new release from Nick Ward, a solo offering aptly entitled Cadenza.

We’ve already had a sneak preview with some of the songs being released as singles during the latter half of 2011 (All The World’s A Stage, O Angeline). We’ve also previously heard Roamin’, which was offered as a free download for a while but has now found a home and been officially released.

However, despite three of the best tracks already having been aired, there is still plenty on this album to delight, especially the gorgeous Heaven Knows and the wonderfully produced Down By The Fair.

Enjoy this new offering from one of the UKs hidden gems, available on all major download stores now and soon to be available on CD at Amazon.

Lisa Polson – Cannonball

Lisa Polson - Cannonball

Lisa Polson had no idea when she recorded a cover of Cannonball for her debut album release that X-Factor winners Little Mix would also be releasing their version as a contender for Christmas number 1.

While we wish Little Mix well with their career, we have to say that it rather takes the soul out of what is a fantastic and haunting song.

Lisa has a tone to her voice that makes you want to keep listening and her guitar technique is impressive considering how long she has been playing.

While both versions (and of the course the classic Damien Rice original) will have their fans, we have to say that out of this weeks releases, Lisa Polson’s has the edge but sadly not the huge promotional budget of a major label to get it the attention it deserves.

Lisa’s version is out on 19th December, more details at www.lisapolson.com

Nick Ward – All The World’s A Stage

Nick Ward - All The World's A Stage

All The World’s A Stage is the new single from Porthcawl singer / songwriter Nick Ward, due for release on AudoFile Records on Monday.

First played in session on BBC Radio Wales back in September, the track caused a stir amongst Nick’s fans, a number of whom were eager to know when it would be released.

The song is reminiscent of early Beatles tracks but with Nick’s own unique style.
